Puppet count with Krinkl Theatre: 575
The Million Puppet Project is the biggest ever National Community event in Australia. The world has been invited to join with individuals and community groups across Australia to create one million puppets to be exhibited in Perth during UNIMA 2008.
- To bring the community together in a common, fun and accessible pursuit to create puppets and in the process to generate interest in and understanding of the history and significance of the wide range of puppetry and associated arts practice.
- To create the largest exhibition of puppets in the world. The proposal has been accepted by Guinness World Records for a World Record Attempt. This exhibition will be in the first few days of the UNIMA 2008 Puppet Festival and Congress.
UNIMA 2008 and the Million Puppet Project is being coordinated by Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, Fremantle WA with support from the City of Perth, Events Corp, ArtsWA, LotteryWest, and Joomial.
All Puppets made were exhibited at the Starcout Theatre in Lismore on the 17th and 18th of August. For a special two days of Puppetry
Performances. Click here for full story.
